Complete your benefits new hire checklist

  • Certify you are “tobacco free” to earn the Tobacco Free incentive, as part of the U.S. Health Improvement Incentive Program.
  • Select your benefits and enroll each eligible dependent (e.g., spouse, domestic partner, child) in the options you choose.
  • Designate your beneficiaries.
  • Note: Per our plan rules, if you do not enroll within 30 days after your hire date, your next opportunity to enroll will be Annual Enrollment unless you experience a qualifying life event, such as the birth or adoption of a child or marriage.

  • Prepare to submit the required dependent verification information (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificate, ConocoPhillips domestic partner affidavit, etc.). See chart below.

  • You can earn up to $1,050 in incentives for medical premium reductions. Incentives are automatically earned in your year of hire. Learn more about the program.
  • If your hire date is before June 1, you must take action this year to earn next year’s incentives. Program details for next year are announced in March.

  • John was hired on March 1, 2024. He will automatically earn his incentive credits for the year of 2024. However, John will have to take action in 2024 to earn his incentives for 2025.
  • Cathy was hired September 1, 2024. She will automatically earn her incentive credits for the year of 2024 and for the year of 2025. Cathy started with the company after the incentive program activities were over, so she would not have had the opportunity to complete the requirements for 2025, therefore she automatically earned them. Cathy will have to take action in 2025 to earn her 2026 incentives.
