Automated Employment and Income Verification

ConocoPhillips uses The Work Number® to provide automated employment and income verifications for current and former employees. This verification often is needed for buying a home, renting an apartment, buying or leasing a car, applying for a loan, establishing credit, or for pre-employment screening.

• The Work Number is widely known to mortgage lenders, banks, apartment complexes and others that may need proof of employment or income.
• Employees benefit from having control of the process, since they authorize access to their information.
• The Work Number can be accessed 24 hours a day for employment verification at www.theworknumber.com. A convenient wallet card is available, as well as answers to frequently asked questions (152KB .PDF).

How to Use The Work Number

For Proof of Employment:
Give the person needing proof of employment (the verifier):

• Your Social Security number  
• ConocoPhillips employer code: 11926
• The Work Number access options for verifiers: online at www.theworknumber.com or phone 800-367-5690

For Proof of Employment Plus Income
Start by creating a Salary Key. A Salary Key is a six-digit number that allows one-time access to your salary information.

Step 1) Access The Work Number either via the Web or telephone:
a) www.theworknumber.com       b) 800-367-2884

Step 2)  Select the Employee option and log in with the ConocoPhillips employer code: 11926

Step 3)  Enter your eight-digit employee number (example: 00123456) and your eight-digit PIN,
  (last four digits of your SSN, your two-digit birth day and two-digit birth year.  
  For example: for someone born June 2, 1969, the last four digits of the PIN would be 0269).

Step 4)  Select the “Create a Salary Key” option.

Step 5)  Select whether you want an e-mail notification when your Salary Key is used.

Step 6)  Write the six-digit Salary Key number.

Step 7)  Give the person needing proof of your employment plus income the following information:

• Your Social Security Number
• ConocoPhillips employer code: 11926 
• Salary Key (from Step 6)
• The Work Number access options for verifiers:
  a)   www.theworknumber.com     
  b) 800-367-5690
